Vibrant Murals by Rimon Guimarães Explode with Patterns

Rimon Guimarães is a young, Brazilian artist who has painted murals across the world, visiting locales such as the Netherlands, France, and Gambia to leave pieces of his work behind. Guimarães' works typically feature mask-like characters and bright colors and patterns — perhaps an homage to the prevalence of African diasporic traditions in his native country. Indeed, the pieces he created in Gambia look right at home, juxtaposed with local women passing by in their exquisitely patterned dresses. His work exudes happiness and adds vibrance to any urban setting.

Street artists Pichi & Avo bring a blend of surrealism and classic urban art to walls across the world. Within these works, a conversation occurs between what we know as modern street art and iconography and styles of centuries far gone. The Spanish duo, in particular, has been referencing classical mythology in a slew of recent murals that have appeared in Miami, Hawaii, and New York.

In a new show at Itinerrance Gallery in Paris, Inti offers a new collection of works on canvas and installations that take influence from his massive murals across the world. The artist’s surreal scenes combine textures and iconography from cultures and histories from across the globe. The show runs through March 17 at the gallery.

Taking cue from street art's global influence, Urban Forms in Lodz, Poland is turning their city into a large, outdoor urban art gallery. Founded in 2009, the main idea of this project was to change the city center by creating large-format artworks directly on the facades of buildings. This project has resulted in over 30 large murals scattered around the city by international and Polish artists, including works by Os Gemeos, Aryz, Etam Cru and Inti from past years.

French based artist duo Ella & Pitr, first featured on our Tumblr, create largescale aerial murals of children's book-inspired characters. Unless you have a birds eye view, it's difficult to appreciate the scope of the majority of their works, which can be found on rooftops, airplane runways, and even huge grassy fields. Their latest mural is not only their largest, it is also the largest outdoor mural in the world to date at 226,040 square feet.
