Joshua Petker’s We’re Not as Colorful as We Think We Are

Los Angeles-based artist Joshua Petker returns once again to San Francisco's Shooting Gallery for 'We're Not as Colorful as We Think We Are', a followup to last year's highly successful 'Waterlillies'. In his new body of work, Petker not only debuts some works on paper (a gallery first!), but also delves deeper into the colorful lives of his characters with a biting commentary on the conceptions of beauty and the covering up of the natural self with color. Preview of select works from the show after the jump.
