Preview: Crajes’ “Virgins of Perverseness” at Pablo Fort

Barcelona-based artist duo Crajes (see our studio visit here) have considerably evolved their style in the past year, honing in on porcelain-skinned heroines with rosy lips with a starkly contrasted palette. The Miyazaki-influenced fantasy fare and pastel colors of the past have given way to monochromatic skulls, delicate lace and pearly blood drops with a Gothic sensibility for their upcoming solo show at Pablo Fort in Manila, Philippines, opening November 17. Titled “Virgins of Perverseness,” the new body of work delves into the occult, exploring the intersection between beauty, witchcraft and darkness. Take a look at some of Crajes’ latest works below.
