Preview: Julia Randall’s “Blown” at Garvey Simon Art Access

Julia Randall, whose seductive drawings of bubblegum bubbles and beckoning tongues are featured in our current issue, is taking her oral fixation to New York's Garvey Simon Art Access for a solo show titled "Blown." A series of colored pencil drawings of viscous, masticated bubbles, "Blown" provides an abstract take on sexuality through subtle signifiers. Bubbles stick together and pull apart in her new drawings; these objects we normally discard come to life with strange and suggestive sex appeal. Take a look at some of the new drawings from the show after the jump.
