Zakuro Aoyama’s Ethereal Graphite Drawings

Brazilian illustrator Zakuro Aoyama creates impressive works using a humble medium. Delicate textures can be found in his monochromatic graphite drawings, creating an ethereal world that seems to lie beyond the grave. His subjects are mysterious and haunting but never threatening, allowing the viewer to revel in their state of romantic decay. He sometimes renders his compositions in multiple panels, inviting us to piece together the narratives that seem to lie beyond the visuals in his work. Take a look at some of Aoyama's latest works after the jump.
