Esteban Diacono, a motion graphics designer based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, creates surreal animations that blend both realistic subjects and humorous exercises in staging and physics. On Diacono’s Instagram page, he often posts “sketches” and experiments, rendered as absorbing and insightful moments of his process.

Diacono is a self-taught creator. His biography offers some sense of what he learned early on in his explorations of different forms. He “acquired knowledge and expertise working in almost every aspect of the visual communication world: graphic design, editing, color-grading, post-production, compositing, and 2D and 3D animation.” He later worked for Steinbranding, aiding in projects for FX, FOX, Discovery Channel, and other clients. In 2009, the artist helmed a music video for Icelandic composer Olafur Arnalds.
Today, Diacono creates work for clients across the globe. It’s in his social media posts that viewers are given both the most brief and lighthearted studies to observe.
