The Street Art Sylized Portraits of Askew One

Mixing abstract and figurative styles seems to be something we see often lately.  However, the street artist and painter known as Askew One has a way of mixing the two that is his own.  The artist employs several tools for his painted works such acrylic, enamel, tempera, spray paint, and vinyl paint all on a Plexiglas square.  Askew One seems to carefully render the highlights of a portrait, the reflection from hair and the bright spots of a face, into a very realistic likeness.  However, other aspects of the painting are far more abstract and reflect influences ranging from the expressionistic style of Basquiat to pop-art and, of course, street art. See more of his paintings after the jump.
