Tomás Saraceno’s Massive Color Changing Tent

Argentine artist Tomás Saraceno has a way of bringing wonder about the universe and its workings to a personal level.  His often giant installations typically contain an interactive aspect, a way for visitors to connect to his work.  For his installation titled Poetic Cosmos of the Breath, Saraceno weighed down the edges a huge foil material at dawn.  Slowly the foil filled with air creating a breathtakingly expansive tent.  Visitors were welcomed to wander through the massive tent as it shimmered in the light of the climbing sun.  As the structure's shape gently shifted in the breeze the reflecting colors inside did as well, creating not only a structure but also a distinct atmosphere. See more photos of the installation after the jump.
