Preview: Nicola Verlato’s “Pagan Pop” at Merry Karnowsky Gallery

Known for his dramatic use of Renaissance painting techniques, Nicola Verlato (featured in Hi-Fructose Collected Edition 3) has a solo show coming up at Merry Karnowsky Gallery in Los Angeles titled "Pagan Pop." Opening tomorrow, September 7, this new body of oil paintings is more "pop" than anything Verlato has previously done. References to Madonna (both the Virgin and the "Like a Virgin"), Greek mythology and science fiction mix and mingle in Verlato's masterfully-painted world. Take a look at our sneak peek of "Pagan Pop" and see the exhibition September 7 through September 28. More after the jump!
