The Interactive Murals of Ernest Zacharevic

The playful wall murals of young Lithuanian artist Ernest Zacharevic aka Zachas have recently been popping up on the streets of Penang, Malaysia. His realistic paintings combined with found objects, either nearby or part of the actual architecture, create murals that are interactive their surroundings.

As part of the George Town Festival 2012, which began last month, Zacharevic was one of six artists featured in the site-specific RESCUBE exhibition which opened last Friday. Also part of the festival, Zacharevic organized “Mirrors George Town,” 6 to 12 large-scale murals throughout core neighborhoods George Town celebrating the town’s multiculturalism.
