KAWS ‘Hold the Line’ at Honor Fraser

by Ken HarmanPosted on

This past weekend saw the highly anticipated new show, ‘Hold the Line’ by street artist and media darling KAWS at Honor Fraser in Los Angeles. Featuring a diverse range of small to large paintings and sculpture, ‘Hold the Line’ presents a vividly bright cartoon world of animation and X’s, dissected Companions and jumbled geometry. Expanding upon his recent showing at the Armory Fair with the gallery (which we covered here), KAWS continues on his use of circular canvas ‘tondos’ and larger than life sculpture in a showing that is simultaneously over the top and accessible, hyper colorized yet reminiscent to the collective childhood.
