‘Blah… Blah… Blah’, a group show recently opened at Asbury Park’s Parlor Gallery, features an array of work from artist’s working within different mediums, to express the written language within a visual context. The varied styles lead to different interpretations of how language can be used within a composition, as some of the work focuses on the design of the lettering, while others hide it within collaged portraiture. Bold texts are hand woven on a loom while others are carefully painted. The end result is both quirky and illuminating. Take a peek at more work from the communicative yet silent works below.
