The Sculptures of Eric Eaton

by JL SchnabelPosted on

Artist Eric Eaton, who recently showed with Lion Heart Gallery in Germany, creates small sculptures housed it boxed hangings, reminiscent of the collage boxes of Joseph Cornell.  Each vessel contains a commentary on the current fears and anxieties of our current perilous state in the world, while echoing symbols from the bible, the tarot and America’s history of slavery. Painted in layers of matte black paint with symbolic touches of white, red and gold, the darkness of each piece adds to its mysterious allure.
