Fahamu Pecou’s “Whirl Trade” Preview

Our friends at A&O PR swung by The Shooting Gallery as they wereunpacking Fahamu Pecou's work for his imminent solo show, "WhirlTrade", opening this evening (Saturday, June 12th) at 7pm. Fahamu's work discusses thecross-cultural issues surrounding the nature of African Americanidentity as it pertains to masculine roles, the perception of thoseroles within African American culture as well as on the continent ofAfrica, and how certain stereotypes are being communicated by themedia. For those of you who are unable to attend the opening or whosimply can't wait to peep what Fahamu has in store for his monumentalSF show, check out the following flicks.
