The Collages of Derek Gores

Floridian artist Derek Gores has been on our radar since we first saw his work in '09 at Manifest Hope in Washington DC. The RISD grad's collages are comprised of various clippings, creating a style of portraiture that is full of contradiction; seemingly photo realistic yet angular and cubist, distinctly modern yet often with a vintage or classic feel. Gores' latest body of work will be on view in the 'Torn and Tattered' group show opening next weekend at Thinkspace Gallery. Get an exclusive preview of several of Gores' pieces here on Hi-Fructose.
