Intricate Thread Sculptures by Artist Takahiro Iwasaki

Fine artist Takahiro Iwasaki from Japan creates intricately constructed sculptures that symbolize technology and urbanization. Small threads emerge from piles of towels and other mundane domestic items make up transmission towers, roller coasters, farris wheels, and other complex structures. Working with carved tape, an unusual choice of found object, he carves detailed topographical maps with ambiguous locations.
