In a new group show "Semiotics" at La Luz De Jesus Gallery, the titular study of symbols and signs plays a role in the works of four artists: Dianne Bennett, Meagan Boyd, Carlin Diaz, and Nathan Reidt. Kicking off June 7 and running through the end of the month, the show features artist that work "in a pictorial language by following a set of standards, and rules," the gallery says. (Reidt was last featured on HiFructose.com here.)
Philadelphia artist Nathan Reidt crafts scenes in which everyday objects and beings garner growths and mutations. His drawings, in particular, carry a particular eeriness in their starkness, the artist’s abilities with light adding depth to each creation.
