As we’ve been previewing on our Facebook page, Hi-Fructose Vol. 14 cover artist Greg “Craola” Simkins has curated a group show, ‘Inle’, that will be debuting soon at Gallery 1988 Melrose. The roster features over 100 of the New Contemporary scene’s best including one of our favorites, HF Collected Edition Vol. 2 cover artist Audrey Kawasaki. Take a gander at Kawasaki’s piece, ‘I Won’t Forget You’, here on Hi-Fructose.
Our friend Audrey Kawasaki (HF Collected Edition Vol. 2 cover artist) will be releasing a new print this coming Sunday, February 27th. Per usual, this one’s going to go quickly so make sure you’re registered in advance and on the computer at the designated time. More info on the release here, get a couple close up pics of the framed print after the jump!
Audrey Kawasaki continues her explorations into new forms of artistic expression (you may remember her wooden broaches which we posted about here), with a foray into the world of custom plush. Created as a gift for a friend, Audrey’s handmade felt dolls are individually created with oil paints (the faces and hands), hand-cut felt and some good old fashioned down-home stitching. Get a behind the scenes look into the creation process after the jump.
Nose to the grindstone in preparation for her upcoming show Outré Gallery in Melbourne, HF favorite Audrey Kawasaki (Collected Edition Vol. 2 cover artist) has surprised fans this weekend with a special and unexpected release slated to drop later this week. Since we first got a peek at the accessories during last year’s Baby Tattooville, Audrey has spent the last year working side by side with engraver Bryan Crowe to produce these limited edition fine art brooches. Scheduled to go on sale Saturday, July 17th through Audrey’s online store, these puppies are looking to go pretty quick, so be sure to register an account on the site in advance.

Audrey Kawasaki (featured in HF vol.6) makes undeniably beautiful images with graphite and oil paint. She’s taken the world by storm, gathering large crowds to see her glowing originals (Kawasaki’s expert lighting is fantastic) up close and in person. Her show just opened at NYC’s Jonathan Levine Gallery Take a look at a few show favorites here, although it is hard to choose!
The folks at Pressure Printing have just released a beautifully crafted Audrey Kawasaki (HF vol.6) embossed etching. Each print is hand pressed, then hand colored by the artist and its wooden box frame housing is made from scratch. They show their fine craftsmanship and attention to the most minute detail in this great step-by step posting here.
