Alexander Reisfar’s eerie paintings are packed with intricate creatures and dark surrealist undertones. Both brooding and elegant, works created by the Oregon-based artist have been features across the U.S. The artist is able to navigate political and wartime themes with the iconography depicted in his paintings.
“His rendering and narrative skills are surprising for such a young painter,” a statement from John Natsoulas Gallery says. “At first glance, one would think the talent and insights are that of a far more mature artist. A free spirit, Reisfar states that, ‘The unfulfilled search for definition is an intentional effort on his part and one of the recurrent themes found in his works.’ He often uses found objects, or wood pieces to frame these deeply personal and original works.”
