Helena Pérez García’s Stirring, Lush Illustrations

The lush, dreamlike illustrations of Helena Pérez García often pair female subjects and an iteration of nature that is cerebral, rather than just a backdrop. The artist, born in Spain, is currently based in London, where she works on both personal and commercial work. She's published two illustrated books while working for clients like Buzzfeed, Tate Publishing, Penguin Random House, BBC Proms, and several others.

“As an illustrator, Helena specialises in portraits, editorial and book illustration,” a statement says. “Her mysterious and conceptual illustrations, often depicting characters in surreal situations, are rich in detail and color. Her work is inspired by art, literature, and cinema.”

Erin McCarty’s Gouache, Nature-Inspired Paintings

Erin McCarty, an Alaska-born, Arizona-based painter, creates large-scale gouache works that mix influences like the natural world, the human body, and the abstract ideas and emotions surrounding our place in the world. After graduating from the Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland in 2010, the artist worked in the Oregan area before returning to her home state of Alaska, where she recharged and created a new body of work inspired by the region. These days, she lives in Tucson, where she's inspired by a new terrain and ecosystem.
