Whether it’s a cleverly disguised speaker box or massive wall installation, Alex Yanes crafts vibrant characters and scenes out of seemingly disparate elements. The Miami-born artist says his inspiration comes from “vibrant fixtures of my environment, fatherhood, life’s circumstances, subcultures and the ability to create something out of nothing.” Often, his work is more functional than meets the eye.
“Where he once worked on canvas, his art has taken on a life of it’s own, coming alive via wood, acrylic, resin and enamel into three-dimensional installations,” a statement says. “Each is a unique view into Yanes’ history and love of all things art and have caught the eye of art aficionados and corporate collectors alike. … Whimsical and yet relatable, Yanes’ art embodies innovative use of color and imaginative subject matter and speaks to collectors and new art lovers, alike.”
The artist has worked with brands like Red Bull, Adidas, Sony, Vans, Neiman Marcus, and others. He’s also made it a point to work with charities and foundations that help children, like St. Jude’s Hospital, NBA Cares, The Dan Marino Foundation, and more.
