Christo Dagorov’s Multi-Layered Drawings Overlap Surreal Imagery

Self-taught artist Christo Dagorov creates multi-layered drawings in which scenes appear to melt into one another. In his "Skylines" series, translucent urban landscapes manifest in spirit-like ways over placid beach scenes. The interplay between nature and urbanity asks viewers to image a place's current state and what could have been. Dagorov's use of acute gradients gives his work a nearly sculptural level of depth. His series of monochromatic drawings titled "Lips" also melds various images, this time constructing surreal, hellish visions in the shape of human mouths.

Micki Pellerano traverses different media like an alchemist. His work spans from experimental theater, filmmaking, to drawing — all of which transform and combine in a paranormal way to create what seems to be an ever-evolving creative canon. The artist has a show titled “Monoliths” opening on October 19 at envoy enterprises in New York City. Pellerano invited us into his studio to discuss his new body of work.
Street art has been criticized for being a boy's club, so for the few internationally-prominent female street artists out there, it has been vital to foster a sense of camaraderie across national borders. This May, StolenSpace Gallery in London brings together two prolific artists, Olek and Miss Van, for two side-by-side solo shows that are in direct dialogue with one another. The two artists are long-time friends and admirers of one another's work, and though they have been included in many group shows and street art projects together (during Miami Art Basel last December, they created neighboring artworks in the public art nexus Wynwood Walls), this is their first joint gallery project.
Greg Eason has created thought provoking new images for his upcoming exhibition "CLASSIC/ LUXURY / EXOTIC / ROMANCE (C/L/E/R)" at Space W10 in London, opening January 15th. He will show alongside Bristol-based artist Anouk Mercier, where together they mix-up references of the past and future. Eason's drawings are heavy with an empty vastness as in previous works, covered here. His use of negative space to depict Romantic subjects have merged with the exoctic. Replacing the eggs and skulls is the statue of Winged Victory of Samothrace, combined with jumping dolphins and Scarlet Macaws, stripped of their brilliance by a monochromatic palette.
Eric Green's meticulously detailed drawings replicate life beautifully- but there is something off about them. "When you really begin to understand life, everything changes completely all the time. Nothing is ever the same again," he says. Working primarily in colored pencil, Green draws images that are meant to change our perceptions by illustrating the subtleties between moments as light changes and objects are mysteriously moved by unseen occupants.
