The Irreverent Pastel Drawings of Ricardo Cinalli

by Nastia VoynovskayaPosted on

Argentinian artist Ricardo Cinalli works with pastel as his primary medium, constructing detailed drawings from fine, hair-like lines. Drawing flattened figures that resemble the characters on Grecian urns, Cinalli probes religious and mythological imagery with his works. Some of his subject matter (such as the tattooed Christ) appears subversive or satirical, but he leaves out enough detail to allow the viewer to decide its significance. Take a look at some of his works below, images courtesy of Ricardo Cinalli.
