Ceramicist Susan Beiner creates opulent works that imagine an alternate version of nature. These detailed sculptures test our instincts to detect the real from the artificial. Beiner hides fluorescent, cartoonish flowers within the realistic ones. With these contrasting juxtapositions, she probes the notion of the synthetic in the age of technology.
