Beijing-based sculptor Chen Wenling creates large-scale sculptures that bite with social satire. Giant, inflated caricatures of pigs and other large beasts are a recurring motif in Chen’s work. Visualizations of gluttony and corrupt power, these stylized figures appear to poke fun at authority figures with their inflated, self-indulgent expressions and grotesque appearances.
