Corey Helford Gallery and their offshoot art space, CHG Circa, will be opening two solo shows on April 13: Kazuki Takamatsu (featured in Hi-Fructose Vol. 16) at Corey Helford and Ray Caesar (Hi-Fructose Vol. 18) at Circa. Working in distinct yet complementary styles, the two artists’ shows make fitting complements to one another as both Caesar and Takamatsu employ digital media to create surreal works of astonishing depth. While Takamatsu uses a technique called Depth Mapping to precisely plan the shading and gradation in his holograph-like paintings, rendering the final result in guache, Caesar uses 3D modeling techniques to cultivate a tense ambiance of forbidden sexuality in his stylized scenes.
