Charles Robb’s Unsettlingly Realistic Sculptures

Charles Robb‘s monochromatic sculptures are eerily lifelike yet, at the same time, impossible. Teetering on the border of realism and fantasy, Robb’s artworks present abstracted and contorted bodies that haunt with a human presence as they defy the laws of physics. Busts of male subjects appear petrified with agonized or disoriented expressions, while hooded human figures with obscured faces float as if stuck in limbo between life and death. Robb has a solo show titled “Loss Control” at Dianne Tanzer Gallery + Projects in Fitzroy, Australia, opening on March 23. Take a look at some works by Charles Robb below.
