Following yesterday’s sneak peek at ROA’s works-in-progress for his current solo show, “Stop Over,” at Bodson Emelinckx in Brussels, our contributing photographer Henrik Haven sent over some photos of the show’s opening night last week as well as detailed documentation of the show’s many intricate, interactive installations. Filled with cabinets, jars, notes and scientific sketches, the gallery transformed into a veritable Victorian-era laboratory that ROA covered with morbidly fascinating paintings of animals in various states of decay. Following a prolific year of international travel, this show arrived as an in-depth investigation of the themes ROA has been pursuing in his work. Take a look at some photos from the opening night below, images courtesy of Henrik Haven.
