Tara Donovan’s Organic Installations Composed of Household Objects

New York-based artist Tara Donovan creates elaborate installations out of ordinary household objects, turning plastic cups, buttons, paper or fishing line into intricate biomorphic forms that sprawl across the floor. Donovan stacks these materials like cells in a larger organism, collecting many identical units until they form a mold-like whole. Donovan’s installations are all site-specific and transform the spaces they are built in with their growth-like formations. Take a look at some of her work below.
