Joe Sorren

This Saturday, December 1, at Jonathan Levine Gallery in New York City, Joe Sorren (HF Vol. 18), DALeast and Vinz will debut three side-by-side solo shows. Joe Sorren’s “Everything’s Alright Sweetie, Please Get Some Sleep” presents a series of soft, contemplative works rendered with Impressionistic brush strokes. The artist was finishing the series when Hurricane Sandy struck, and his reaction to the disaster is evidenced by the tempestuous progression of his paintings. South Africa-based street artist DALeast’s “Powder of Light” includes a series of tea-stained canvases that feature the artist’s dynamic animal portraits, which pulse with energy and motion. Centered around the theme of rebellion in the name of personal freedom, Spanish street artist Vinz’ solo show, “Batalla,” will include new collages, paintings and sculptures. Vinz will also have a book release at the gallery for Vinz Feel Free, published by Wooster Collective, on November 30 from 7-9 p.m. Take a look at some images from the show courtesy of Jonathan LeVine Gallery after the jump.
