Pushing the boundaries of portraiture, Kris Lewis (HF Vol. 20) will debut a new series of paintings at Denver’s David B. Smith Gallery on November 9. With the beauty of his female subjects at the forefront, Lewis explores humans’ connection with nature. His characters are found in solitary states — While Lewis zeroes in on their faces, we catch glimpses of icy mountains and deep waters in the backgrounds.
