Dormice’s “Principle 54” at The Outsiders

Artist duo Dormice specialize in unlikely juxtapositions in their paintings, framing model-esque female figures in dreamy landscapes and abstract backgrounds that break down the barrier between commercial art forms and high art. Combining text and imagery, Dormice’s works have a graphic sensibility reminiscent of the visual language of advertising, but their loose brushwork connects them to Impressionism. Dormice currently has a solo show, “Principle 54,” at Lazarides’ The Outsiders London gallery that runs until November 5. Take a look at some of their latest works below.
