Melting pop culture and advertising into amalgamations of line and color, Bast has a new solo show, “Bast, Germs Tropicana,” currently on display at New York’s Opera Gallery. A prominent street artist in New York with a reputation abroad, Bast created a new series of mixed-media works for the show that combine the grittiness of wheatpaste posters with hints of collage and abstraction.
