Lee Jin Ju’s Explorations of Memory

by Zach TutorPosted on

In her slices of landscapes, Lee Jin Ju strives to present memory in three dimensions rather than two. The idea that all details are not there and that some things often seem out of place — causing disruption to our senses as the memory grows older and our grasp on it fails — is a thought that Lee ponders in her work. With the loss of memory comes the dream-like state and Lee exploits this idea as a strength in his pieces.
