Today, London’s Lazarides Gallery debuted “Klimt Illustrated,” a new group show featuring 9 internationally recognized street artists who will pay tribute to the revered Viennese painter. To celebrate Gustav Klimt’s 150th birthday, the Vienna Tourist Board partnered with the gallery to recruit Ron English, Shepard Fairey, Vhils, Bastardilla, Know Hope, Mode 2, Lucy McLauchlan, Marlene Hausegger and Eisenberger to create works inspired by Klimt’s famous painting style. The artists painted live in front of an audience in Grosvenor Gardens in London on August 21, and their art works will be on display at Lazarides Rathbone from today until September 1. Take a look at some photos of the artists painting live and their resulting artworks, images courtesy of Lazarides.
