Hugo Orlandini’s Jean Jaurés & Sarmiento

Barcelona artist Hugo Orlandini’s selected works entitled Jean Jaurés & Sarmiento, were created in 1996, but the dark commentary behind this work is still feels relevant today. These transformational objects were arranged in such a way they resonate a sense of loss and abandon. Orlandini describes his work as a doorway, “I’m inclined to think of art as a transformational, creative and political energy that has sensorial, optical and mental consequences. A door that grants us access to new channels of perception in order to submit accepted systems to new questions.” The artist has a talent for capturing decay and destruction through exploration and the powerful medium of photography.
