Sarah Harvey’s Underwater Beauties

Taking place mostly underwater, British artist Sarah Harvey's paintings shroud the human body in a cacophony of waves and reflections. Her figures, often young, energetic women, carry an air of seduction that is at once flirtatious and mysterious. By painting her figures submerged in fluid, Harvey is able to experiment with light and proportion, creating an abstract interpretation of the body that the viewer is left to piece together.
