Valencia, Spain
Last year Spanish street artist Escif created a buzz on the artsy frontiers of the Internet when he toured California, creating murals up the coast in anticipation of his show at Fifty24SF Gallery that summer. Since then, the artist has stayed on the other side of the Atlantic, painting new works in Spain and Italy that further define his clean, minimal aesthetic.
With artists and viewers at street art festivals all over the world focused on who can go bigger and brighter, it is refreshing to see an artist who works in a smaller scale using a subtle color palette. Though we do love a good sensory overload, it’s the quiet of Escif’s paintings that calls the viewer to tune in and attentively listen. Take a look at some images courtesy of the artist.
