The Art of MI-ZO

by Nastia VoynovskayaPosted on

Having worked in commercial and fashion photography, L.A.-based duo MI-ZO creates fantastical, illustrative worlds that give the impression that the models were allowed to wreak havoc inside of a high fashion editorial. The photos exude a sense of spontaneity, as women in barely-there garments traipse about the surreal sets with languid gestures and lazy expressions that recall the heroin chic era of runway fashion. Comprised of German photographer Zoren Gold and Japanese graphic artist Minori, the duo pulls from its complementary skill sets to engineer scenes that look like they don’t pertain to any particular culture, but rather exist in their own strangely beautiful vacuum.
