French born, Véronique Meignaud is currently living in Montreal where she constantly experiments with new ideas and mediums. She moves with ease from pencil drawings to digital creations. Meignaud does not have a predetermined idea of what the work will be when she begins a piece, she works freely through an instinctual approach, as she completes each illustration.
Unlike Surrealistic automatism, she has a starting point to her process, which directs her uninhibited ideas. Meignaud has an extensive experience in both the gaming and fashion industries, her series of fantasy playing card illustrations for Magic: The Gathering for Wizards of the Coast has brought her international acclaim. – Jane Kenoyer
