Parisian stencil artist C215 will be debuting a new body of work, ‘Smoke Gets in your Eyes’ later this evening (Saturday, December 10th) at San Francisco’s Shooting Gallery. We’ve long been fans of the artist’s work, his portraits bear a uniquely individual voice, surpassing the stereotypical stencil paradigm by using the medium to express layers of detail invoking more emotive qualities than that of his more photorealistic or propaganda-inspired peers. For the new show, C215 explores the imagery and allure of tobacco advertising questioning contemporary and vintage values of beauty and psychology.
