Though technically not part of the annual Art Basel celebrations, the Rubell Family Collection is a historic and important institution, and highly recommended to any travelers in town. Since 1993, the personal collection of the Rubell family has been on display in a series of rotating exhibits at their forty-five thousand square foot exhibition space in Miami.

When we visited yesterday, we were treated to ‘American Exuberance,’ a group show consisting of close to 200 works by American artists (with almost a quarter of which were created this year.) Works by Lisa Yuskavage, Richard Prince, Jeff Koons, Cindy Sherman, Matthew Barney and more. The exhibit will be on view until July 27th 2012, get a look at a selection of our favorite works after the jump.
