Art Basel Miami Beach 2011: Part One

Earlier today, Hi-Fructose attended the press preview of the 10th annual Art Basel Miami Beach. Much like previous years (see last year here), the 2011 fair featured a fair share of blue chip works and the standard Warhol/Calder/Indiana fare, however scattered throughout the massive and sprawling venue we found a nice selection of gems including works by Mark Ryden (HF Vol. 15), Nick Cave (HF Vol. 20) JR (HF Vol. 17) and Yoshitomo Nara (Vol. 17.)

With vernissage happening as we speak, Hi-Fructose snuck out to avoid the crowd, but in the meantime, get a look after the jump at the first part of coverage of this year’s Art Basel Miami Beach, and stay tuned for part two as well coverage of the satellite fairs and rampart street art in the days to come.
