The Art of Aryz

by Nastia VoynovskayaPosted on

While skeletons and zombies might be the stuff of horror movies for some, these grim creatures burst with life in the illustrations and murals of Spanish artist Aryz. Surrounded by flora and fauna, his nightmarish characters become part of the natural world: Their decomposed state functions as a part of the cycle of life, rather than a threat to the living. Organic shapes and moving particles fill the backgrounds of Aryz’s artworks, transmitting a sense of perpetual energy and motion. Aryz has a knack for painting incredibly large-scale works, and has been spending this year traveling to Finland and Italy to cover dreary urban facades with his colorful renderings. Check out some of his latest creations below. —Nastia Voynovskaya
