The Art of Lisa Congdon

by Ken HarmanPosted on

Opening this weekend at Gallery Hijinks in San Francisco is ‘Boreas’ by artist Lisa Congdon. Named after the Greek god of the cold north wind, Congdon’s gouache and acrylic works cull its cool palate and patterns from Icelandic folk art while the bleak landscapes of her subjects provide a nice break from the current summer heat. Congdon’s work will be joined by an installation from Sarah Applebaum, ‘Boreas’ opens this Saturday, July 2nd and will be on view until July 30th. Get a look at some of our favorite pieces from the show below.
