Sea No Evil – Opening Night

Captain Paul Watson

The action of many magnifies the voice of one.  This is the mission of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, who hosted their 5th annual “Sea No Evil” art auction last weekend at Riverside Municipal Auditorium.  “Sea No Evil”, which has raised over $200,000 combined in recent years, was created to nurture and promote the society’s non-profit campaign against illegal whaling in Antarctica, seal hunting in Canada, dolphin slaughter in Japan, and shark finning in the Galapagos. Spotlighted by Animal Planet’s hit series “Whale Wars” and acclaimed by Time Magazine as an environmental hero, Captain Paul Watson spoke at opening night, autographed artwork, merchandise, and spread awareness to fans, alongside his crew members. Watson shared, “If the whales survive and flourish, if the seals continue to live and give birth, and if I can contribute to ensuring their future prosperity, I will be forever happy.”  Over 100 artists donated to his cause, including Hi-Fructose favorites Gary Baseman, Camille Rose Garcia, Lola, Shepherd Fairey, Angry Woebots, Ana Bagayan, and so many more. – Caro
