With the residents of Japan still suffering, recovering and battling the ongoing problems from March’s massive earthquake, a Japanese ex-pat living stateside has created “Awake After Quake”, a visual library of inspirational works created by artists from around the world to express the angst, frustration and hope derived from the natural disaster. The organization would like to continue cataloging these important works, so if you’ve been affected, either directly or indirectly by the event, please feel free to submit your inspired piece on the site. Get a look at several of our favorite works from the series, including pieces by Tomokazu Matsuyama, Eric White, Maxwell Holyoke-Hirsch and more below.
