Latvian artist Jana Brike has arrived in the United States to present her latest body of work, “Book of Taboo” at Distinction Gallery in Escondido, CA. The Balthus-inspired paintings seem to be everything the master would have approved of, the uncomfortable subject of childhood sexuality and other taboos are explored thoroughly through the artist’s mixed media works. “Book of Taboo” opens Saturday, May 14th, view our favorite works from the show below.
