Reminiscent of surrealist collage, artist Dan Hillier creates stoic portraits of strange figures with masks of human faces pinned to their towering, feathered or serpentine heads. Imbued with fabulist flare, the figures appear in Victorian era dress, echoing regal portraiture from a lost era. Coupled with the metamorphic qualities of the work, this inclusion suggests an amalgamation of extinct traditions with the mystery of the supernatural. Take a peek at more of his terrific work below.
