Otis college of Art and Design instructor Daniel Lim has a new body of work now on view at La Luz de Jesus gallery in Los Angeles. Entitled “Sweet Imperfections”, Lim’s acrylic and colored pencil portraits are a glimpse through the eyes of a lover, a look at how others may see us as opposed to how we see ourselves. Interestingly enough, the works are apparently based on Lim’s religious beliefs, though you wouldn’t necessarily notice as there’s an almost apparent lack of overt symbolism, a subtlety that comes to full light however as Lim has decided to donate 100% of his proceeds from the show to help the people of Japan currently being affected by the recent disasters.
